Let me introduce myself…
I am Tim Sandock from Interpersonal Leadership
I am originally from Berlin and I have worked in Germany, USA, England and Singapore, before I moved to Switzerland in 2010. My natural interest in people and characteristic curiosity led me to working in diverse, multicultural environments all over the world. This international experience enables me to connect deeply with clients of all backgrounds and nationalities.
Throughout my career, I’ve worked in well-functioning teams that allowed team members to develop and strive, and I’ve also worked in micro-managed environments which did not provide any chance of developing a high performing team.
With my first career in hotel management at Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, I experienced firsthand what managers go through every day and how team dynamics can influence our professional and personal wellbeing.
When I came to Switzerland, I started working at IMD, one of the highest ranked executive business schools in the world. I first coordinated, and later managed, programs with a focus on leadership. During that time, I developed my skills as an Executive Coach, coaching and facilitating on a variety of IMD programs. I am very passionate about the work I do because I recognize the value it can add to people; both in their professions and in their personal lives, impacting their families, friends, teams, and themselves.
Personally, I enjoy the company of others, having meaningful conversations, but also desire some alone time now and then. I like to live in the moment rather than planning every little detail of my life. When I’m not working, I am a passionate photographer.
As with coaching, I am fascinated by seeing things from different perspectives, in a new light, and with different lenses. A big part of my life is appreciating nature, particularly forests where I enjoy the fresh air and the smell of trees. This appreciation is the inspiration for my “walk and talk” coaching sessions. Nature offers us many opportunities to see our situation from another angle. And the fresh Swiss air is just an added benefit!
“I am amazed by the power of coaching when I see a gradual transformation in people. I am personally touched by the impact not only on their professional lives but also on them as a human being. This is what motivates me the most in my job.”
